If you know the basics of how to develop an Intergenerational (IG) program in your community and now you need to know how to go about actually making it happen, this workshop is for you.

If IG is a new concept and path forward in your agency, taking Introduction to Intergenerational Programming is recommended first.

In this day-long training, you will learn how to create plans, recruit participants and implement and evaluate your own Intergenerational program.

OBJECTIVES:

  • Create a concrete plan and timeline for your IG program
  • Know how to design and create an evaluation process unique to your program
  • Understand how to overcome challenges as they relate to implementing an IG program

OUTLINE:

  • Review what has been planned for your program 
  • Purpose and outcomes identified for your Intergeneration program
  • Specific program for your community and target participants
  • Plan your program details
  • Learn how to recruit students and seniors
  • Know how to choose participants who have completed applications
  • Understand the details leading up to the start of the program
  • Create a timeline
  • Review plan and timeline
  • Discuss challenges / brainstorm solutions
  • Learn how to evaluate your program
  • Create evaluation forms

About the Facilitator 

Betty Good has over 30 years experience as an educator both in Canada and internationally. This wealth of experience has prepared her to work well with both youth and seniors. For more than seven years with LINKages Society of Alberta she has managed IG programs and trained others how to start their own. Her many intergenerational friendships have shown her the benefits to both seniors and youth of having friendships with people from other generations.

 

The price of this training is per person. 

This training will be taking place online via Zoom. Registered participants will be emailed a meeting link. 

This training is not guaranteed to run. We need a minimum number of people in order to run it.
