Description
Children Who Witness Abuse (CWWA) counsellor with Fort Nelson Family Development Society. The practice of the CWWA program is to assist children ages 3-18 who have had exposure to abuse. The program helps children and adolescents cope with their trauma by providing them access to safe support networks, increase self awareness and self confidence, improve communication, problem solving skills and cognitive coping skills. Additionally it provides education on violence; definitions, safety planning and its impacts. Secondary to CWWA at Fort Nelson Family Development society, Education Consultant for Prophet River First Nation. The role of Education Consultant consists of student assessment, prevention and intervention techniques, teacher support and school administration support.
